From the band''s inception in 2002, the members of Shadowclad have displayed a great deal of patience and perserverance in their efforts to craft a body of work which stands apart from the cacaphony of mediocrity. When John became the sole respondant to a bulletin board ad posted by Luke at a Seattle music store, the two began the methodical process of influencing one another and laying the foundations for their future sound. A year later, Greg and Luke met through a mutual friend and arranged their first practice. During this session, which took place in Luke''s parents'' bedroom, the three experienced an undeniable energy from the fusion. After trying out a handful of bassists and writing/recording their first half dozen songs along the way, Mark Bent became the permanent bassist and the four adopted the name Shadowclad and they began playing shows around the Puget Sound region. Two years, 70 shows, and a self-titled demo later, Mark left the band due to creative differences and other opportunities. After a long and frustrating search, Pete was kidnapped from another local band and added a new dimension to Shadowclad. Late 2005, recompleted and refocused, the four entered Matt Bayles'' Red Room studio in Seattle with musician/producer Ben Verellen (Harkonen, Roy, Mastodon''s Blood Mountain) to record their first full length album, entitled "...the Silent Side." The band is currently playing shows to promote their debut album and simultaneously writing a new batch of songs that will make up an EP that will be released some time in 2007.
