‘Se-On’
I haven’t written a piece about myself in a while, but I am going to give a brief description of my background and my musical history. My name is Patriceo Green, but most people call me “Se-on”. I was born in the parish of Saint Ann in Jamaica West Indies. Both my parents were very active in church and in our community. I started singing at a very early age, somewhere between the ages of 3 and 5. I became more musically inclined while attending church and my parents were the ones who guided me into singing especially my mom. I have not regretted it. As I got a little older I made the church choir and by the age of eight I was singing solo at church conventions and rally’s.
Upon becoming a teenager and on into high school, I myself got very active in drama and singing groups. We did a lot of high school concerts, and these were done as fundraisers. I became affixed in the yearly eisteddfod program and got better as the years progressed. It was great and we all seemed to be having a wonderful time while doing it. Some of us did it for the exposure. I didn’t sign autographs or anything like that, but just knowing that I made someone leave our concert hall feeling good, satisfied me and gave me a sense of fulfillment. I got a lot of compliments about the way I sounded and how cute I looked and that boosted my ego even more. I knew without a doubt that I would make it one day.
I have performed at weddings, corporate events and holiday parties. The highlight of my singing career was when I did an opening number at a concert for the Jamaican artist named “Capleton” in Orlando, Florida, so I know what it feels like to be on stage, performing for thousands of people. My love for music and especially reggae music goes back as far as “ska”. When I am not singing, I feel like there is a hole in my life. I have known for a long time that it was my purpose in life to make others happy, and I have found that singing for people and not only for them, but for myself as well, can do just that. What I would like to bring to listeners is a blend of reggae and pop that will keep people moving, listening and happy. With that said I recently released a single in Jamaica Called “I Like”. It is doing very well and I have received a lot of positive feed back from people from all facets, especially the music fraternity.
Sincerely,
Patriceo Green
