Details:
Kathryn Kj Burnett is a keyboardist/vocalist/songwriter active from 1978 until present. She played on the L.A. Chittin'' Circuit from 1978, beginning with the girl group, Sugah, who was to have signed with Solar Records as one of its first 10 groups. During the 80''s she wrote songs for and performed with artists like Taka Boom, Michelle Coltrane, Perry Kibble (Taste of Honey), Robert and Rodney Gordy (Jobette Publishing), Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone, Trey Lewd, Don Griffin (Miracles). In 1990, she wrote her own tracks for her rap show and trademarked the name, "Ice Cream." In 1994, Warner Bros decided to use her Ice Cream tracks on George Clinton and her tracks also became part of the UMG sampling system and especially Death Row Records sampling machine. She had no knowledge of this until 2009, when she uploaded to Tunecore/Itunes. Then there was a resurgence of her work appearing on many current records as samples, and even a Casio Piano patch for the pattern "Funk." She is also an actress and appeared in the skateboard film, "the Lords of Dogtown" as a pool owner.
