Formed by Liz Clear a few short years ago, the original purpose of the group was to flesh out the songwriting visions Liz had generated in her rather fertile imagination. “rock, but with a bit of country twang” was how Liz described her notion of “The Sound”.
13 songs were recorded over as many months; snatching time here and there to finally produce a solid bunch of tracks with a unique sound showing diverse influences, dynamic feel and melodies you’ll find yourself humming the next day.
Of course when you allow a band to aggregate fairly organically out of a group of, admittedly rather talented rockheads, who’s perverse notion of fun is to launch into Zeppelin songs at a million notes a second the minute Liz leaves the room, you may wonder where the twang might go…… ?
But NO! The twang survived – thrived even. And better than that, after only a couple of fully fledged rehearsals, CLEAR stood around in a dazed, slightly deaf circle and realised that there was a great live band lurking just below the surface of these refined studio sessions. Too good, and for that matter, too enjoyable to leave in the cage.
So, one new drummer later, CLEAR are ready to unleash a whole new album (and then some!) worth of material on the unsuspecting ears and eyes of the world. CLEAR’s live act satisfyingly delivers the goods.
Now promoting their first release on cd, CLEAR is definitely a band to watch.
