The idea with the enhancements to your local business directory is to turn it into a complete portal for your area. Make it fun for your visitors (your clients' customers) and give them reasons to keep coming back. Have contests, chats, discussions, web conferences, events, etc.

Brand yourself in the local business community of your area and establish great relationships with the business owners in your area, even if they aren't a client of yours.

In addition to using the newspaper to find new clients, get out and mingle with the people. Attend local events, especially business expos and chamber of commerce meetings.
