Producer Guy Benny was manning the mixer in his Lower East Side studio, The Space. Wagner plugged in his Martin acoustic, and tape rolled.
Five songs -- including three from his forthcoming "Heartland" LP, a cover of Wilco''s "I''m Always In Love," and the chestnut, "Dear Elizabeth -- and a few hours later, "The Rivington Sessions" was made.
