MP3 Bill Pillmore - Look In Look Out

Ex 70''s, "Cowboy" folk rocker Bill Pillmore''s first solo CD is a little folky, a little country, a little ambient, with song writing with a more introspective than retrospective perspective.

Bill Pillmore: "Look In, Look Out."

This is music you always hoped was out there, but probably feared wasn''t. It''s elegance wrapped in simplicity, meticulous construction in the guise of easy spontenaity, worldly wisdom dressed in the clothes of perpetual optimism, and vice versa.

Once upon a time, Bill was a founding member of the groundbreaking country-folk band Cowboy on Capricorn Records which opened for the likes of the Allman Brothers Band, Alex Taylor, and headlined shows up and down the east coast in the early 70''s. Bill''s contributions as a songwriter were paramount to their artistic success. His craftsmanship has not faded over the years, but has evolved as the inevitabilities of life change us all. Today, his songs seem to combine the backwards-looking introspection of Jackson Brown with John Prine''s clever turn-of-phrase, and in a way that is not at all imitative. And all this time, Bill knows intuitively that the music must never be slave to the lyrics, no matter how strong they may be.

In fact, it is strongly suggested that you listen to "Look In, Look Out" at least twice. When you drive away in the morning, put it in your CD player and let the visceral melodies win you over. When you get home, play it on your stereo-preferably with the headphones on-and carefully listen to the lyrics. Both experiences will be as profound as they are enjoyable.
