Details:
Musically, Josh and Tasha Via are best identified as acoustic rock loyalists focusing on vocal clarity, solid rhythmic instrumentation, distinctly unique violin leads and swells, and hook-based chord patterns for easy sing-a-long-ability. Lyrically, the couple strives toward intimacy in writing, putting out songs reflective of their own personal Bible study, life experiences, and key biblical themes and concepts.
After 6 years of worship leading and playing in rock and roll bands, Josh finally met the woman who would later become his better half and help to solidify his groping in the dark for the right sound. Classically trained in the Suzuki method of violin, Tasha discovered poor Josh trying to make it as a rhythm guitarist in the mountains of Virginia and showed him how a real acoustic instrument should sound. Their story is much like that of the illustrious Pac-Man and Pac-Woman. They met. They chased. They married. They had little Pac-men. Well, two so far.
A husband and wife combo, Josh and Tasha recorded “The End to Which I Strive” in their home (well, actually, three homes by the end of it) over a 2-year period of time involving several moves and life transitions. Josh recalls, “Within about 20 months we found ourselves with two children, having moved to and from three very different cities, facing a handful of career moves, and weathering a multitude of testing times for our family and marriage. It was awesome to be able to stand together as a couple committed to our marriage and to Jesus Christ and record these songs as a reflection of what God was doing in our own lives.”
Josh loves coffee and brown sugar and cinnamon Pop-Tarts in the morning. Tasha is pretty fond of morning shows and Pilates.
