First things first: Milo Fairweather is not a stage name. Milo Fairweather is the name of a project born out of a never ending stream of songs which were less suited to that of singer/songwriter Daniel Olivas'' rock band, Dronen. While the band was on hiatus in early 2005, Daniel decided to keep busy by working on song ideas that he felt were not Dronen material. These were songs that were never meant to be played loudly on a stage at one of the local venues that the band frequented. These felt more intimate, and although Daniel believed they possessed less potential for commercial acceptance, he thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and record a few to get a feel for what he could do with them. In July of that year "Jesys" (a song which would later be released on the debut self-titled LP) was recorded, and the ball slowly began rolling. About halfway through the recording of this first song, Daniel decided to record four or five songs and release them to the public as an EP. Well, as usual, he got ahead of himself and started recording a few songs at a time, not to mention writing new material and trying to flesh out these new ideas. Every time he thought he was done some new idea popped into his head. Finally, he and a few close friends that he consulted with came up with the idea of releasing a full length album and having it professionally pressed. With help from a few local drummers (and a trumpet player), Daniel completed his first group of recordings and set out to put together a live band (which is still rehearsing its way up to par). Milo Fairweather was the name of a character in a story that was never written, and so Daniel thought it would be fun to give this character life in the form of music. So now begins Milo Fairweather''s journey. For now, the live shows consist of more stripped down versions of the songs that appear on the LP. They are closer to what they were at their inseption, and while the bells and whistles might not all be in place, the songs stand the test of the solo acoustic performance. We hope you enjoy what you hear.
