Seven years in the making, this CD contains 10 original tunes written and sung by Robert and backed up by a group of seasoned musicians he selected to carry forward the vision of his music. The music ranges in style from funk, to blues, to gospel, to rhythm and blues, with the common denominator being Robert''s unique songwriting and vocal style.

The Band:

Robert A Johnson, Songwriter, Vocals, Co-Producer, Guitar on "Company Man".

Kelley Hunt, nationally known recording artist, joins Robert on the vocal duet: "Infatuation Blues" and contributes her soulful piano throughout.

Miles Joseph, (Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole) adds his skillful and inventive guitar talents.

Jim Spake, (Robert Cray, Al Green, John Haitt, North Mississippi All-stars) a multiple winner and Hall of Fame member of the Memphis Premier Player Award on saxophones.

Scott Thompson, (Al Green, Rufus Thomas, Michael Burks) completes the horn section with his trumpet work.

Dave Pruitt and Mike Cherry, (The Bel-Airs) check in with a feel that comes from a lifetime of playing roadhouse blues and roots music.

Charlie Wood, the king of the B-3 in Memphis delivers a soulful touch.

Mike Lower, (an old friend who gave Robert a place to sleep between one of his several marriages) lays down a solid bottom of bass guitar.

"The Memphis Divas" Reba Russell, Jackie Johnson, and Susan Marshall, provide soulful back-up vocals on several tracks.

The Touch was Co-Produced (with Robert A Johnson)and Engineered by Stephen Gardner, a 30-year veteran of production and engineering in the Los Angeles, Nashville, Kansas City, and Columbia, Missouri music markets.
