MP3 Brewster - Evolution

Memorable lyrics based around catchy rock melodies, ambient-jazzy-feeling acoustic & piano ballads, and a touch of electronica. If you could mix heavy-metal with techno with new-age with emo-rock...

13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: Power Pop

This is the debut LP from Mike & Rob. It may be considered a musical masterpiece of modern concept albums. It contains over 37 minutes of ."..dance-worthy pop songs, jazzy jams, and hate-invoked electronica grooves." Somewhere between heavy-metal and techno and emo and new age. Evolution is a full-length collection featuring many like-themed songs rooted from Rob''s past relationships.

The overall style of Brewster''s music is hard to label but the disc has a few pop songs that could almost be called three-chord-punk. There''s also a couple of ambient/jazzy-feeling ballads and a touch of electronica. "Coffee Shop" is quick and storytelling and you have to hear the Mr. Furley tribute called "Three''s Company." "Melissa" is the most crafted with pop sensibility and "Asleep In The Daytime" is an upbeat song about something not so upbeat. You will also find quiet instrumentals filled with pianos, strings, and acoustic guitar. Add surprise when you find "The Shallow Girl," a song best summed up with the lyric, "This is the living-hell that is love" over an almost Pink Floyd layer of sounds.

Brewster is the band conceptualized by Mike Davies and run as a workshop. Many people contribute to the project. Rob Eisel and Mike wrote and recorded at their private studio to create the first Brewster CD. You are able to listen start to finish without getting stale on one tone. Hope you like it.
