bright fields

A 3- piece out of Bellingham and Seattle, WA, U.S.A., bright fields performs and records the music of Mark Huber. A native of St. Paul, MN, Huber has lived in Bellingham (internationally recognized as the "City of Subdued Excitement") for some years now. Joining Mark, groove partners for life Bill and Julian MacDonough- father and son on bass and drums respectively.

Julian was already a local drumming legend by the time the two-man behemoth Blue Planet released their first and final cd "Smell This". He came of age a short time later having found himself unwittingly engaged in a scandalous coup at Bellingham''s Leopold Hotel lounge, which resulted in Julian replacing house drummer Laverne Walker in a group known as The Laverne Walker Trio. The Yamaha rock touring kit was traded for a battered old Ludwig and a Zildian "A".

Bill is a jazz pianist, Mark a jazz saxophonist, the two for years inseparably bonded to their locale- they''ve played every hotel, night club, and banquet hall in the region, often performing together at Poppe''s, The Calumet, or Boundary Bay Brewery. For years, eh!

bright fields is a change of instrument, and a return to garage aesthetics. Emancipated grooves, form, and harmony resolutely entangled. Confoundingly accessible and transparent. A new band. Northwestern northwest.
