The legacy of Cemetery Superfly is a strange tale of purple sky''s and twisted elements. Formerly called "Supernaut", Cemetery Superfly was formed in Arlington, MA in the early nineties. High school chums Jon Gouveia, Scott Anderson and Ross Jackson started a band called Green Banshee and began writing bizzurke, experimental music to Scott''s offbeat poetry and lyrics. After a few shows with another high school friend, Ryan Spencer, Supernaut recieved immediate attention from local clubs. Fellow co-worker of Ross, Dennis McCarthy, replaced Spencer and the final piece of the puzzle was complete. Supernaut was soon signed to Commonwealth Records and on their way to showcasing for major record labels. Supernaut''s debut self-titled album recieved rave reviews from local magazines and one reviewer even compared the album to the Beatles "White Album"!
But after some inner band turmoil they disbanded in 1998. Now, after eight years...
They are BACK! Changing their name from "Supernaut" to "Cemetery Superfly" (named after a bizzare encounter with a ghost) plus the addition of ex-Condition Blue guitarist Brendan Flaherty, Cemetery Superfly is sounding better than ever and a new 4-song EP titled "Nothing Is Something" has just been released and is available in stores NOW! Stay tuned for more...
