Details:
In early 2003, Pablo Picker self-released his first recording entitled “Seeking Shadows.” With eight acoustic songs, “Seeking Shadows” went on to receive positive reviews from local media in Boston, Pablo''s hometown, as well as some local airplay on radio stations such as WERS 88.9FM. It was a strong debut for such a young and emerging artist.
Pablo soon started performing on the famous streets of Harvard Square (Boston), connecting with travelers and visitors from around the world. From there Pablo began to perform in clubs and lounges around Boston, NYC, and San Francisco. Venues like Sky Bar (Boston), All Asia (Boston), The Cutting Room (NYC), Arlene''s Grocery (NYC), and The Red Devil Lounge (SF), became some of Pablo''s frequent stops. With his unique style in tote, he had begun to solidify his audience. After about two years of performing, interest from record labels, positive press, and lots of new fans, Pablo sought more. In search of a stronger and more honest voice, Pablo returned to his family''s home country of Chile, South America to write, record, and gain perspective and understanding of the recording industry. His cultural heritage and life experiences became the first strokes on the canvas that would become his powerful second album; "171 Nails counted Then dropPed."
Now, almost two years later, with songs that have been described as "haunting" and "mesmerizing", Pablo is back with a vengeance. From a song like "Statues", with it''s cello and piano capturing the power in simplicity to express loss; to "Plastic" combining guitar rifts reminiscent of musicians 3 times his age and a voice that encompasses the profound feelings of self reflection; to a song like "Allegro MCMLXXIII" exploring the sonic history and politics of Pablo''s heritage...this album embodies the depth, maturity, and (above all) uniqueness that Pablo has set out to capture.
Currently Pablo is preparing for the release of the new album in the spring of 2007, as well as organizing a tour to promote the album.
