Let''s be honest. You''re probably not that interested in reading a bio on a band you''ve never heard of. It takes precious seconds of your life that you''ll never get back. There are a lot of other things you could be doing right now. If I know the Discovery channel, American Chopper is probably on. I''m sure they''ll be yelling at each other and let''s face it, who doesn’t like to watch large mechanic types yell at each other.
However, let''s say you listened to one of our songs, actually kinda liked it and it prompted you to read this. Awesome. There''s a first time for everything and I thank you. Here you go.
Simply put, Rocking and laughing go hand in hand. It''s a good indication you have a great song if you can''t stop laughing while playing it. That''s what The Ramey Memo is about. Fun nerd rock. We use this band as an excuse to have as much fun as we can. We don''t care how we sound or what we look like. As long as we can act like dorks, amuse ourselves and hopefully you in the process, then mission accomplished. As Tyson has put it, "We''re definitely not as famous as other bands, we may not be as good as other bands, but I guarantee you we have more fun."
While our lyrics are pretty heavy in the ''comedy/joke/we''re not as funny as we think we are'' category, our music is straightforward alternative rock.
While all of the band members are in their mid 20''s, Tyson (guitar) and Garner (drums) have been playing in bands together since 1996. Eleven freakin'' years now. Happy 2007. Raye Lynn is a classically trained Violinist. She picked up the bass after realizing it too has only 4 strings.
In August of 2005, The Ramey Memo song "God Damn Kids" was featured on the "Saint Joe Bands Vol.1" compilation, a compilation for local bands in Saint Joseph, Missouri (if you didn''t get that from the title).
On April 3rd, 2007, our first full length record "300 Voices at King Hill Pub" was released, solely by us. No record label, no support and no cash other than a lot of tax return money.
