Details:
Scott has been singing and playing guitar for over 20 years, and writing his own material for more than ten. Scott formed the Paranoids in 1995 with Bunkhaus Records label owner Mark Fagan. The Paranoids were a loud but melodic blend of garage rock and played with the Sons of Hercules, The Motards and The Inhalants, among others, at clubs like Emos, The Blue Flamingo and the Hole in the Wall. They recorded 4 singles, appeared on several compilations, and received widespread underground acclaim.
After a 6 month stint performing live with Spoon on 4 US tours, Scott formed The Royal Towers in 1997. Though the band recorded a ten song demo and played several live shows, they broke up when Scott went back to school. Many of those original ten songs appear on Adair''s debut Bunkhaus Records album, Liquidation.
Liquidation was recorded in Jeff Copas''s (Hit Space, Sixteen Deluxe) living room. Jeff called Scott (the 2 also played together in Beecher and Palantine in the early 2000s) to see if he wanted to record a few demos, live, old-school style, with one mic in the room. Scott began listing the songs he wanted to record and realized he had enough material for a full-length record. So, they began tracking. Then mixing. And mixing. And tracking again. And mixing some more. In addition to Copas and Fagan, the record has key guest appearances by Jacob Schulze (Moonlight Towers), Carrie Clark (Hit Space, Sixteen Deluxe), Amy Steiger (The Otters) and Max the dog. Liquidation is the culmination of six months of hard work. It has a relaxed, loose, home-studio feel, but was professionally mastered at Terra Nova Studios. It will fit nicely alongside your Guided By Voices, Neil Young, Flaming Lips and My Morning Jacket records. Or you can just put it after Back in Black if you''re the organized, librarian type.
