Details:
Beginning with the formation of the band Port Said in 1981 with Keith Keeler Walsh, I produced a catalog of titles of electro-acoustic albums which focus ondifferent aspects of modern electronic composition.

On the band''s single, four cassettes and in our four live performances, the overall idea was to present a pop group with progressive leanings.

While most such groups of the time were pursuing disco
dance rhythms, Port Said were intent on avoiding this in favor ofevoking 4th world flavors.

On the first few Cinematics ventures, both solo and in collaboration, the attempt was to locate the works in theoretical films in exoticsettings which never corresponded to any real world locations.

The qualities of mystery and intrigue were the guiding forces behind these works. In the titles which followed, the focus changed somewhat, from modern industrial to sci-fi to disturbed audio journalism to Orwelliam soundscape.

The newest work (The Black Book) attempts to summarize all of these various approaches in a tapestry both eastern and western, internal and external, organic and surreal.
