MP3 Dumb Terminal Project - Sketches of
Acoustic indie-folk recordings filled with raw emotion.
14 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Angry, ROCK: Americana
Welcome to the lo-fi world of Dumb Terminal Project!
Over the past ten years I have recorded a ton of songs using mostly 4-track recorders inside various apartment bedrooms, living rooms and much too chilly basements. With sparse instrumentation (mostly accoustic guitar, minor percussion) and deeply personal song writing skills I present catchy meoldies I believe have captured a sound not unlike rock pioneers such as VU, Bowie and the Beatles on a bare-bones budget. If you are a fan of overly-produced radio hits then you may want to stay away from these recordings as several have a raw, immediate, vital edge to them that seems to transcend their simple arrangements. I try to avoid a lot of what makes home-made 4-track recordings unlistenable and stick to melody, concise song writing and a sense of humor. With "Sketches of Dumb Terminal Project" I have culled various recordings over the last several years and hooked up with Brett Huus, the engineer of 2004 Grammy Winner Native American Singer-Songwriter Bill Millers "Cedar Dream Songs" to master these tracks from their original state and give them the polish they truely deserved. So here I present 14 tracks, clocking in at around 40 minutes and covering such topics as love, death, running, heartbreak, regret and foremost the idea that music can be therapy to both the muscian and the listener.
