"Here I Am" was featured at the 2002 Columbus National Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival, where he won the Alex Libby Award for Best Musical Performance. The Columbus Herald hailed the show an audience favorite and noted, "While a few of his beautifully sung melodies are rapturously romantic, others score with clever lyrics and wry self-awareness."
Here''s what others had to say about the show/CD:
"Here I Am is not only a coming of age tale - it is a one man show about self acceptance, growing up, the search for love, lust and the sentient ability to find humor in it all. David Sisco has written himself a surprisingly witty and touching musical memoir... [he] weaves a tale with a fine common thread that will echo in the ears of most gay men who listen. The recording makes one highly curious to see it performed - and what''s more - glad to have heard a new voice writing for the theater (Adam Hetrick, EDGE Boston)."
"Here I Am is such a gift, and I wish every youth could experience this performance because I believe it''s a powerful step toward improving humanity one audience member at a time (Aaron Patterson, Cleveland Gay/Lesbian Community Center)."
David is a member of the acclaimed BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, where he is currently collaborating with lyricist Tom Gualtieri on several new projects, including a musical adaptation of "The Heiress."
