Traditional Ghanaian music and drums
13 MP3 Songs
WORLD: African, WORLD: World Traditions
Details:
Sohoyini translates as ''one heart'' in the Dagbani language of the Dagombas in Northern Ghana. We created Sohoyini with the hopes of uniting cultures and celebrating our diversity through the beautiful dance and music of West Africa.
Our first, self-titled CD was just released in April of 2007. Sohoyini is a blend of traditional and contemporary music recorded in both the US and Ghana. Features two songs recorded on location with Awal''s Zosimili group in Tamale, Ghana. Great for dancing to, relaxing to, drumming to, or just listening to! A beautiful and versatile CD with upbeat, danceable rhythms, smooth vocals, and complex rhythmic compositions.
