This CD is very different from the previous release DIAMOND MIND in 2005 which was mainly keyboards.
On THIS SILENT FLAME tracks 1&3 are guitar improvisations recorded on a Teac reel-to-reel machine in June 1995. Both tracks consist of only one take with no overdubs. Extra effects and EQ were added when the tracks were transferred to computer in 2005. These are deep-drift, drone soundscapes with virtually no rhythm or pulse which at times sound more like Aeolian Harp than guitar.
Track 2 was recorded on computer in the spring of 2003 and is an improvised guitar piece using a long delay, distortion and ring-modulation effect. There are two guitar overdubs and hand percussion on this more rhythmic track.
