Details:
AT AN EARLY AGE F.U.S.E. UNDERSTOOD WHERE HIS TALENTS COULD TAKE HIM. AS A BOY GROWING UP HE WAS ALWAYS ARTISTIC, DRAWING PICTURES OF WALTER PAYTON, MICHAEL JORDAN, ARTIS GILMORE,ETC. BUT HIS TRUE CALLING WAS SEEN IN THE CAPTIONS HE WOULD PEN AT THE BOTTOM OF THESE PICTURES. NEVER AT A LOSS FOR WORDS,THESE CAPTIONS HAD THE QUALITY AND CLARITY OF A SUN-TIMES OR CHICAGO TRIBUNE SPORTS PAGE. AS TIME PASSED HE WOULD UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT THIS EXPERIENCE WOULD BE TO THE REST OF HIS LIFE.
AROUND EIGHTH GRADE F.U.S.E. BECAME LESS INTERESTED IN SPORTS AND REALLY BEGAN TO GAIN AN INTEREST IN MUSIC. HE WOULD LISTEN TO ANYTHING, ROCK, HEAVY METAL, AS LONG AS IT HAD A REBELLIOUS VIBE TO IT HE WOULD LISTEN. HOWEVER, IN THIS STAGE OF HIS LIFE, NOTHING WAS SAYING MORE TO HIM THAN URBAN MUSIC. THE MORE HE WOULD LISTEN AND THE MORE GROUPS HE WOULD HEAR, THE MORE CAPTIVATED HE BECAME. INSIDE OF HIM GREW A FIRE TO SPEAK HIS MIND, LESS CAUTIOUSLY,AND JUST TELL THE TRUTH. AS HE BEGAN TO WRITE POEMS AND SHORT STORIES, THE MORE MUSIC SEEMED TO BE THE RIGHT FORUM TO DO SO. THERE WAS SOMETHING SO INSPIRING AND REAL IN HEARING N.W.A. CHANTING "F*** THE POLICE",THEY WERE PAINTING PICTURES OF LIFE. HE WAS JUST STARTING TO BE EXPOSED TO SONGS LIKE "DOPEMAN" AND "NEW JACK HUSTLER" BY ICE-T THAT WERE MAKING MORE SENSE TO HIM THAN ANYTHING HE HAD EVER HEARD.
NOW, IN HIGH SCHOOL HE WAS WORKING AT HIS CRAFT ON A REGULAR BASIS, BEFORE CLASS,DURING CLASS,AFTER CLASS,IT DIDN''T MATTER, AS LONG AS HE WAS WRITING. NOW IN FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER HIP-HOP ARTISTS, HE WOULD TUNE INTO STORIES TOLD BY LOCAL RAPPERS SUCH AS https://www.tradebit.comRT, D TO THA S, AND A KID FROM THE SOUTHSIDE OF CHICAGO NAMED COMMON SENSE. NOW, THAT NAME DIDN''T MEAN MUCH TO HIM AT FIRST, BUT AS HIS MIND GREW AND HIS HUNGER FOR THE TRUTH HEIGHTENED, COMMON SENSES'' MUSIC WOULD BE A CATALYST IN HIS PERSONAL EVOLUTION. UPON HEARING "I USED TO LOVE H.E.R." F.U.S.E. WOULD BE CHANGED FOREVER.
AS F.U.S.E. WAS EXPOSED TO MORE TYPES OF HIP-HOP, AS THE CULTURE GREW, HE GAINED GREATEST RESPECT FOR A BREED OF M.C.''S CALLED "CONSCIOUS" OR "REALITY" RAPPERS. GROUPS LIKE "BOOGIE DOWN PRODUCTIONS", "RUN D.M.C.", "BOOGIE DOWN PRODUCTIONS"AND "PUBLIC ENEMY", WERE THE VOICES HE LISTENED TO. THESE GROUPS AND THEIR MUSIC WERE THE ELDERS THAT HE COULD RELATE TO AND AS AN ARTIST THESE INFLUENCES BEGAN TO SHOW IN THE CONTENT OF WHAT HE WAS WRITING. IN 1997, THE HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION WOULD SEE ITS FIRST SIGN OF MERIT AS F.U.S.E. APPEARED ON THE GARY,INDIANA, CLASSIC DOUBLE ALBUM, THE GATEKEEPERS-NORTH-SOUTH G.I. COMPILATION ALBUM.
AFTER A SMALL APPEARANCE ON THE GATEKEEPERS ALBUM, F.U.S.E.''S CONFIDENCE, AS WELL AS, RESPECT BEGAN TO GROW AMONG THE INDIANA UNDERGROUND HIP-HOP COMMUNITY. STILL GROWING AS AN ARTIST, F.U.S.E. DID ANYTHING HE COULD TO FURTHER HIS DEVELOPMENT. HE ENTERED OPEN MICS, UNDERGROUND BATTLES, AND PERFORMED WHEREVER HE COULD. AT THESE BATTLES, HE DEVELOPED MANY FRIENDSHIPS AND MUSIC RELATIONSHIPS THAT REMAIN IN TACT TO THIS DAY. IT MAY HAVE ALL BEEN SMALL SCALE, HOLE IN THE WALL STUFF TO THE AVERAGE PERSON, BUT F.U.S.E. AND ALL THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED KNEW THAT IT WAS MUCH MORE. WE REPRESENTED THE NEXT GENERATION OF HIP-HOP ARTISTS FROM OUR AREA. EVERY ARTIST LOVES HOME AND WHERE THEY COME FROM AND F.U.S.E. WAS NO EXCEPTION. ALTHOUGH, HE WAS FROM THE CHICAGOLAND AREA,THE MIDWEST WAS HOME NOW AND THAT WAS HIS DRIVING FORCE.
IN 2002, JUMA ENTERTAINMENT RELEASED HOP AND SHORTFUSE-COLLECTIVE BARGAINING. AFTER SO-SO SALES AND LACK OF PROMOTION, THIS ALBUM WAS ANOTHER NECESSARY HARDSHIP THAT F.U.S.E. HAD TO ENDURE. APPEARANCES ON VIZIONS'' COMPILATION TITLED "OPTIONS" IN 1999 AND "I LOVE YOU" IN 2002, F.U.S.E. REGROUPED AND WENT INTO A STATE OF SOLITUDE TO GET AWAY AND DECIDE IF HE WANTED TO CONTINUE THE PURSUIT OF HIS DREAM. IN 2004, HE ACTIVELY BEGAN WORKING ON MUSIC AGAIN, AND REKINDLED HIS PASSION SLOWLY, BUT SURELY. DOING A NUMBER OF SHOWS, HE ONCE AGAIN BEGAN TO CREATE, NOT TO BE A STAR, BUT BECAUSE HE LOVED HIP-HOP. LATE 2004, F.U.S.E. DECIDED HE WOULD TAKE AT LEAST A YEAR TO WORK ON HIS NEXT ALBUM AND FIRST SOLO OFFERING.
NOW IN 2007, F.U.S.E. IS BACK AND STRONGER THAN EVER. IN DECEMBER 2006 F.U.S.E. SIGNED ON WITH TCB RECORDS AND CEO WILL PROFIT. AFTER, A FEW STUDIO SESSIONS "3423" THE EP WAS COMPLETE WITH TITLES SUCH AS "CHI-STATE OF MIND", "JUST U", AND "FEELS SO GOOD", THIS EP SHOULD SERVE AS THE PERFECT PRELUDE TO A LONG AND PRODUCTIVE CAREER. WITH AN LP ON THE WAY F.U.S.E. FEELS THAT HE IS FINALLY IN A SITUATION WHERE HE CAN THRIVE AND CONTINUE TO BE HAPPY DOING WHAT HE LOVES. "3423" THE EP, IS A VERBAL PORTRAIT OF WHERE F.U.S.E. CAME FROM, AND THE TRIUMPH OVER THE OBSTACLES THAT COME WITH BEING AN ASPIRING ARTIST. JUST LIKE THE CAPTIONS HE PENNED UNDER HIS DRAWINGS AS A BOY. F.U.S.E. CONTINUES TO NARRATE LIFE THROUGH THE PICTURES HIS WORDS PAINT. GOD WILLING, F.U.S.E.S'' WORK WILL SPEAK VOLUMES TO FUTURE GENERATIONS AND INSPIRE ANYONE WHO DARES TO DREAM. AS AN ARTIST FOR THE AGES, ONLY TIME WILL TELL HOW FAR F.U.S.E. CAN ACTUALLY TAKE THIS DREAM.
