MP3 Plasmabat - Twilight Music
Sweet, melancholy, placid instrumental rock music
11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Psychedelic, ROCK: Progressive Rock
Details:
"Twilight Music" is an album of mostly gentle, guitar-based instrumental rock music, with elements of psychedelic, prog and shoegaze. Some of it is sweet, some melancholy, some both.
It is the third release from Plasmabat, the solo project of Hugh Caley (Loomer and Lickitty-Clit). The previous release, "Compost", is also available on CDBaby and various online music services.
Most of the songs have minimal instrumentation (all played by Hugh). "Familiar Shadows" and "Mid-February" are "Frippertronics"-inspired improvisations. "Improv 1" was originally an improvisation by Hugh, Lynda Mandolyn (Fabulous Disaster, Loomer) and Serge Vladimiroff (The Guilty Party, Loomer), re-arranged and recorded by Hugh solo.
There is a typo on the album cover; the 8th song is actually "A Million Times" (named by Hugh''s wife Eleanore, who said she''d heard it ...), so the actual song order is:
1. California Ebullience
2. Burnt Sugar
3. Improv 1
4. Familiar Shadows
5. Pools
6. Wurlitzer
7. Kinda Eerie
8. A Million Times
9. Duet
10. Monster
11. Mid-February
Hugh is originally from Michigan, of the long winters and cloudy days (hence "Mid-February"). He has lived in Berkeley, California since 1995 (hence "California Ebullience"). You can contact him at hcaley@https://www.tradebit.com
