Program DescriptionLet's go through all of the settings, etc. in No Stoppin' This Popin. Open the program. You will see:
You should be on the HTML Options tab.
The first step is to select your Source HTM(L) file. This is the web page you want your popup to appear on. Click on the green plus sign, navigate to where your source file is and select it.
Next, select your pre-made HTM(L) popup page(s). You can choose just one, or as many as you like. If you choose more than one, you have the possibility of rotating multiple popups on one page.
Side note: You need to create your popups separately in your own HTML editor, such as Dreamweaver.
Next, add your Title Bar Text. This is simply the the text people will see in the title bar on the top of each popup. Choose your text color based on the Border color you will select in another step.
Now click on the Popup Display Frequency Options tab. This section controls when and how often your popup will display. See figure below:
Select one of the following options:
Show Randomly - This will show the popup once every X browser sessions. So, if you put a 1 in this box, then the popup will show every time this page is viewed or refreshed. If you put in a 5, it will show once every five browser sessions.
Once per Browser Session - pretty self-explanatory.
Once Every Y Days - You can set this for once per day, or once per week.
Note: When we talk about showing the popup once every X browser session or day(s), this refers to each visitor. So if you set it for every 5 browser session, then this means that your visitor would have to revisit the page (either by closing and reopening their browser or refreshing) 5 times before the popup reappears.
Now click on the Popup Options tab. This area controls the popup itself, both in function and appearance. See the image below...
We'll go through each option one at a time.
Do Not Cache Popup Box Contents - Select this if you want to rotate more than one popup. The reason is because most browsers will cache (store) your web pages so when a visitor returns to your site, the contents load faster. If you want to select multiple popups, then caching would not allow the visitor to see the other popups. This option, when selected, stops the caching, which will insure your multiple popups will rotate.
Disable Scrollbars - This ensures that the user's focus is automatically set on the popup (instead of in some cases having to scroll the document). Note that this feature is only functional in IE7+, Firefox 1.x+, and Opera 8+. In IE6 and below, a CSS bug means it is opted out of this feature.
Delay Popup for N Seconds - How long before the popup appears in seconds.
Close Popup Box After Z Seconds - When selected, this will automatically close the popup after your predetermined number of seconds.
Display the Close Link - It's recommended you leave this on, unless you choose to automatically close the popup. Just make sure your visitor knows your popup will close by itself...
Popup Background and Popup Border colors - this simply selects the colors of your background and border. Note: The background it's refering to is the color of the "shading" that blocks out the web page behind the popup.
Popup Box Width - Set how wide your popup should be.
Now let's check out the rest...
Destination Folder - Select where you want your Projects saved. Create or select a folder you can easily find. What will happen is, each time you create a new popup, you will need to select the folder as the destination. Then the generated files/pages will automatically be placed in a sub-folder. Each time you create pages for each project (for example, you want to change how the popup looks, etc.) a new sub-folder will be created. See figure below:
There's an extra tab and other features. But what we're interested in is showing the popup on exit. So make sure that is checked off, as you see below...
The rest of the popup is created much the same as before. Only now, your visitor will only see the popup when they bring their mouse to the top of the browser window. See below...
Ok, let's cover the Peel Ad feature...click on the Popup Options tab. Click on Create Peel Ad...see image below.
Next Click on the HTML Options tab. Put in your destination for when someone clicks on your peel ad. Then browse for the image ad you created. See image below.
The flash file (https://www.tradebit.com) will automatically be included when you create the pages. There are two PSD files you can use for your image ad templates.
That's it! Just Create Pages, and upload. It's That Easy!
How Do I Make A Popup? The beauty of this system is that you have full control of the way the pages look and feel. That's because you build all of the pages in your own editor, just like you're used to. Then you just need to select the files with the software, and it inserts all of the code for you. So let's walk through this...
You have a home page or a sales page that you want to put a popup on. You want people to get this popup when they visit your site. Sounds great - so all you do is select it with the software. Step 1 done.
Now, you have a subscribe box all made up. It's a nice graphical form asking for visitors name and email address, with a message as to why they MUST subscribe to your newsletter now. Great! Select it with the second selection. Step 2 done!
Variation: Let's say you just want your popup to show an already existing web page. No problem...all you need to do is create a blank html page with an Iframe and your destination page inserted. Like this:
Just edit what you see highlighted. That's it. Now the popup window will show that page.
Another Variation: Testing. Let's say you have three or four different subscribe boxes/layouts and you want to know which one converts the best. Easy. Create a page for each (and be sure to use some sort of tracking in your pages) and select them all. Make sure you check the "Do Not Cache Popup Box Contents". Now, your pages are randomly shown when your page is visited. This will work with Ads as well.
Another variation: Let's say you have a membership site. You have an important message for those that log in, or a special members only sale...Well, create your popup with your special message, and when you select your Source page, select the login page your members see. Now they will see your message when they log in. When you're done, reupload your original page and your popup is gone.
