MP3 Jamnation - Black and White

ROCK: Roots Rock, BLUES: Rockin'' Blues

Jamnation''s first release "Black and White" lays down an irrepressible mix blues, roots rock, zydeco and psychedelia into a sound that is earthy, uplifting, and downright rockin’! From the blistering story of a love gone wrong ("Tell Me Baby") to a psychedelic invitation to escape to a world beyond the Sun (World’s on Fire), Jamnation takes you on a trip you won’t soon forget.

Brother and sister Joe and Denise Dicey deliver a vocal package that is at once
sweet and soulful, brash and bold, and a wonder to behold. Lead guitarist Karl Kushner, who has played in the backup band to Chuck Berry, evokes the spirits of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn, while keyboardist/accordionist Nick Newlin keeps things zany with his zydeco flavor and juggling fingers. Drummer Dan Velloso and bassist Mark Sebly deliver a tantalizing tempo and tone which “really lays down a groove and drives it, and really gets people on their feet.” DC Blues Calendar. On the CD, heroic guest drummer Hal Squires really swings on "Twice as Nice", "I''m a Plant", and "Busted Flat Blues."

Check out Nick Newlin’s zydeco romp “Desiree”, Joe Dicey’s impassioned “Lucky Man”, Greg Marsh’s wry “Busted Flat Blues” and Denise Dicey’s barrelhouse “Study in Confusion.” The final cut “World’s on Fire” written by Joe and Denise’s father, blues great Bill Dicey, stretches beyond terrestrial limits with a tour-de-force instrumental space trip. From down and dirty to up and out there, Jamnation will have you enjoyin’ the ride!

The East Coast Entertainment Calendar describes Jamnation as “people with music in their blood, obviously getting off playing together.”

"Black and White" demonstrates the freshness, virtuosity, and versatility that
is Jamnation.
