Details:
When Microfiction started jamming back in 2002, it soon became obvious to them, as well as some politely-mannered neighbours, that three minute pop songs were not on the agenda. Indeed, the musical ‘mooderations’ which emanated from the McCully rumpus room were difficult to classify - so Jono, Andrew and Alex simply decided not to.
Freeing themselves from the parameters of ‘type’, Microfiction began a musical rampage, pillaging the heights of classical through to the lows of rock, while enjoying a naughty flirtation with all things proggy. Along the way they picked up numerous awards from the likes of Rockquest and Play It Strange. The boys grew up, left school and today their live sets are greeted with comments such as “Holy shit, that’s awesome!”
With their first EP ‘Broken Signs’ now out, Microfiction performances continue to capture even the most reserved of audiences. Passion is contagious… so come to a gig and be infected!
