"Minute Minutes," which is the latest guitar instrumental album released by award winning composer and songwriter https://www.tradebit.comton, is a collection of eclectic musical styles and genres that have shaped his twenty-five year journey in music. No matter what guitar style he chooses to play in his original music, whether smooth jazz, Latin rhythms, western swing, or alternate tuning acoustic ballads; his simple, understated melodic compositions and arrangements are both sensitive and memorable. Some have described his music as a soundtrack to our daily lives. "He seems to have the ability to effortlessly bridge between songs that are very musically interesting and songs that can just be quietly listened to during a long drive or on a cold winter''s night."
The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Valley Arts Recording Studio in Belton, Texas, and it showcases a very talented group of Texas session musicians. Kit Griffin (electric, fretless, and upright double bass guitars) and Will Bolton (drums and percussion) along with M.L. Bolton on rhythm guitar provide a solid foundation for most of the album''s tracks. From the warm and sensual saxophone work shared by Greg Bashara (tenor, alto, and soprano) and Matt Evans (soprano and alto) to the swinging fiddle of the great Randy Elmore; each track is a musical tapestry that intertwines with Bolton''s electric and acoustic lead guitar lines. Darrell Leverkuhn (piano and organ) and Steve Wesson (autoharp and saw) assist the album to continuously blend tempos, textures, and emotional moods. The result allows the listener to interact and follow the music to a place in their own minds, memories, or life''s events.
Bolton writes in his liner notes: "The years have calmed the desire to try and play fast arpeggios or sophisticated chords just for the sake of their technical challenge. Now days, for me, it''s about tone and emotion. Not so much about what is being played...but about what is not being played. Hopefully this album will help medicate the soul, slow the pace of life, and convince the mind that it''s okay just to enjoy the ride. Yes, this album was written and recorded for me. But for all of those who are seeking a few minute minutes of peace...; then it''s for you as well."
