Chocky Kay grew up in West Texas, playing in groups since the age of five. His influences are diverse, including the Beatles, Eric Johnson, Steve Morse, Joe Satriani, Phil Keaggy, and Stevie Wonder. He started recording and producing at an early age and now owns his own studio and production company.
The song, "Runner" from his first CD, "Sole Intention", was named NAR Rock Song of the Year. Chocky was named NAR''s 2003 Rock Artist of the Year.
Dave Grier, from the legendary Chicago''s Coupla Fat Guys Band, featured "Sole Intention" on his Radio Program and interviewed Chocky as the celebrity of the week. Dave commented, "This is some of the best guitar playing I''ve heard in years". He added Chocky''s CD to his website''s "Must have CD''s" along with legendary rock artists from the past ten to twenty years. One of his songs has been on the Vacation Channel and he was featured in the Jefferson County Gazette while making his live promotional video for the new CD, "Adria".
Chocky''s talent seems unbounded, and he''s taken a big risk on this CD, with a hard driving hip-hop/rock humor song, named Kyd Wok, which is a hilarious and totally irreverent satire of Kid Rock. The song has already generated a lot of interest and the CD is about to get airplay in Denver.
The rest of the music on "Adria" is as diverse, as powerful, as exciting, and as beautiful as the model posing as Adria on the front cover.
As with his first CD, this is a must have CD and proves the depth of creativity and unbounded talent Chocky possesses.
