1963 I was living in Redwood City, Ca, I walked into a night club,
called The Embers owned by Don Zurelli.
On the marque read NOW APPERING "GATEMOUTH BROWN"
I had heard of him but never saw him before.
Being the only other soul brother in this upscale place we spoke and he
asked you''er a singer are''nt you? I said yes and he asked me my name, I told
him and he said you''er opening here tomorrow night, just like that.
The next night my name was on the marque,
NOW APPERING "THE TRENDS FEATURING RICK BAKER"
From then on I worked a lot of the bay area super clubs.

1968 I recorded a 45 for Marquette records, songs called
"Thats called love" and "Got you". That got me on the stage
at "Winter Land" with "Gene Chandler" & "The Young Hearts"

1970 I built and opened Royal Ashbury recording studio inc.
Did alotta business but no hit came out of it.
One artist developed from my studio, blues man Joe Louis Walker.

1977 Spent one year in Hollywood giged at a big super club
on Sun Set Strip called the "The Soul Out"also"Filty Mc''nasty''s"
Came back to the San Francisco bay area and sold out the studio.
I was in the woodshed for a few years writing & singing here & there.
raising my two sons and getting away from the fast life for awhile.

1985 I met Deacon Jones organ player for John Lee Hooker.
he was looking for a singer to go no tour with him on his breaks with
Hook. During thoes years I opened for Hook many times.
I did a gig in Mill Valley, Ca at a club called "Sweet Water"
with John Lee Hooker, Carlos Santana & Deacon Jones

1988 my first time out of the USA, I played Paris in the summer
recorded a live cassett at the Dejazet Theater,
Paris is where I met Curtis Mayfield, I was very very impressed.

1990 I recorded two songs on a blues album callerd
"Lets Talk About The Blues"
songs called "Rockin With The Blues"&"Come A Little Closer"
On the Blue Rocket label, the album features John Lee Hooker,
Joe Louis Walker,Greg Allman,Elvin Bishop,Kattie Webster and others.

1992 went on a 3 week west coast tour of Canada, from Vancover ,Victoria
to Edmenton. On the way we were booked in Portland & Bend Oregon
Played the "Casa Blanca in Seattle My next tour was eastern Canadian
11 citys opening for BB King it was a great experance.

1996 I recorder one song "Sho Ain''t Nothing Nice".
With other artist Lidia Pince, John Lee,etc the CD was called,
"Makin Blues History".

1999 I went on tour to London, Paris. Ireland,Scotland & Wahles,
Oxford University was smashing, the club 100 in London was bloody
good. I did part of the tour with Taka Kahn, Chaka Kahns sister,
yea she can sing.

2000 had a one week gig in Hong Kong at the "Jazz Room"
the show cooked I really injoyed Hong Kong
I came home and recorded my first CD called "Take Me Back"
on EPA City Records.

2002 I''ve been doing festivals local clubs and working on my next
album called "Still Rockin".

2007 I''ve been working with "Big 7 Productions".
This all started with "Gatemouth Brown" who the next time I saw him,
I was on a gig in Denver Col and I heard he was in at a club on the strip.
we hooked up and came to find out we were married to two sisters
brother in laws he or I never knew until then. Life is strange ain''t it ?
Im saving the rest of the story for my book.
