Bishop LeRoi Lacey began preaching the first Sunday in April 1965 at the Bethal Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Leonard McDonald. Also the birth of my radio minstry began in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at WAWA radio station, Rev Johnny Jackson gave me my first beginning. So the sermon at Bethal on New Year Eve 2006 in the 11:00am morning worship service brings back warm memory after 42 years for me.
I''d like to thank Pastor William Robbins and the entire Bethel Baptist Church family for having me preach the message titled "Hold On and Cross Over" with the sub topic: "Reach Beyond The Break and Hold On" in 2007. Thanks to Rev. Johnny Moore in leading the Bethel Baptist Church Choir along with organist, Dwayne McDowell in the songs, "He Won''t Fail You" and "Amazing Grace".
Thanks also goes out to my daughter Leondra "Dee" Lacey for her two songs on this CD, "I Have The Faith" and "Saved".
"Saved" was recorded at the Victory Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California, Rev. Edward Jenkins, Pastor. "I Have The Faith" was first recorded in Puducah, Kentucky. Also, my friend Rev. Randy Allison recorded the song "Walk Around Heaven" at the Community Baptist Church in Redlands, California, where Bishop Herman Hubbard is Pastor.
Four decades, Bishop LeRoi Lacey has honed his skills as a gospel radio https://www.tradebit.com the four decades, two plus were in the Inland Empire at the same raio station, KPRO. These forty plus years, he has always opened his radio ministry with Psalms 121:1-2, "I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes Unto The Hills From Whence Cometh My Help. My Help Cometh From The Lord, Who Made Heaven and Earth."
Bishop Lacey began his ministry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1963 on radio station WAWA and relocated to San Diego, California in 1971 where he continued his radio ministry on KLRO and later on KMJC radio.
In 1973, in Cleveland, Ohio he bame a part of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) under the leadership of the later Rev. James Cleveland. The same year, he became a member of the Gospel Announcer''s Guild (GAG) under the leadership of Al "The Bishop" Hobb.
In 1985, He relocated to the Inland Empire and began his ministry on KPRO radio. That''s two decades plus. In that same year Bishop Lacey became a of Evangelist Pastor Shirley Caesar Outreach Convention in Raleigh, North Carolina. He organized the Mass Media Group and was appointed by Pastor Caesar''s to the board of directors.
