Details:
Whether in his quartet, in New York big bands or out at jam sessions, Chad Gales shows enthusiasm and determination that is nostalgic of his saxophone heroes and musicians. Born in New Orleans, Mr. Gales studied traditional jazz and the great musical scene entwined in the culture of historic New Orleans. Chad gained formal musical training at the University of New Orleans under the tutoring of Ellis Marsalis and Edward Petersen. After two years, he transferred to Southern University of Baton Rouge to study exclusively under Alvin Batiste (11/7/1932-5/6/2007).
Teachers such as; Edward Petersen, Alvin Batiste, Jessie Davis, Wessel Anderson and Ellis Marsalis were critical in his musical journey to become a regular performer in shows, clubs, and festivals in and around New York, Mexico, Chicago, Paris, Nice and Prague.
Chad Gales & Good News is my band of friends. We have known each other for years now, but we cannot figure out how we actually met. Moreover, we recorded this CD in Englewood New Jersey with the help of the recording master Fred Mcfarland. I had great expectations when we recorded this music, and after hearing it I couldnot be more proud of the out come. You can dance to this music or just listen in peace. My goal was to write music that tells a story. Hear it for yourself!
You will love it,
Chad Gales
