MP3 Grace Bible Church - Songs of Grace
Praise and Worship - Original songs from Hawaii by Randy Pacarro, William Pacarro, Esther Watanabe
14 MP3 Songs
SPIRITUAL: Contemporary Gospel, POP: with Live-band Production
It seems that whenever God moves, He births a new song. It was no different in our church in Honolulu. During the 1970’s and 1980’s we experienced a unique outpouring of the Spirit in the area of praise and worship, the new song, the prophetic song, the song of the bridegroom and the bride. There were dozens if not hundreds of new songs written by members of the congregation. Some of them went around the world - e.g. “I Will Bless Thee Oh Lord,” by Esther Watanabe, “Move Holy Spirit,” by Rene Takata.
During those years, a desire began in my heart to share these songs by making a recording. So I made a demo of some of the most promising songs, which I later produced as “Classic Grace.” As it turns out, none of the those songs were used on this recording. (I am working on releasing the demo on CDbaby soon. If you are interested in a copy, please contact me at [email protected]://www.tradebit.com.)
During the 1990’s, Randy Pacarro was the worship leader at Grace Bible Church. With his musical instincts and my formal training, we were able to hammer out some arrangements for “Songs of Grace.” Randy and his brother, Billy are the gifted song writers of most of the songs that appear on this CD. I myself am stronger as an arranger than a song writer. So most of my work was done as the engineer, arranger, sequencer of the album.
Another design for the album was to share what “singing in the spirit” was like. We were able to capture a couple of moments of “free praise” on this recording. Experiencing this worship has been life changing for me and it is one of the greatest expressions of God’s presence I have ever known. I hope that you can catch some of the majesty and glory of it through the recording.
The actual recording took place at two different meetings over the space of about a year (I think). The first half of the album was recorded on a Friday night session with some of the congregation that wanted to participate in the recording. There were several hundred in attendance. The second half of the album was recorded during a conference. We had several missionaries visiting from out of town at that time and it seemed like an opportune time to finish the recording. There were also several hundred people at that session.
The song that Randy sings at the end is completely spontaneous and was made up right there on the spot. This often happens in churches that move in the understanding of prophetic songs and the Tabernacle of David.
This album is only a snapshot of the many many songs that were written during those years. I hope to continue sharing songs through other recordings in the future.
Thanks for the read,
