Details:
When Chris and Kim Lindell started making music together, they spent many long days in the wild lands of Joshua Tree rock, climbing high, playing guitars and writing songs out in the empty desert. They quietly lay their hands on a towering headstone, innocent of the legendary specter of Gram Parsons’ incendiary farewell, keenly aware of some transmission from beyond, as the dusty windswept monument played a part in shaping their music. Under the radar, running it out and laying it on the line since 1982, the Lindells’ music is a singular haunting labor of love, rare self~taught talent and intense, powerful expression.

The Lindells’ reveal stunning, feral music with breathtaking vocal harmony and amazing, intuitive playing that’s straight up and timeless. Like the southwest Colorado highcountry they call home, their music is full of lush, thriving beauty and crazy, rolling, dust in your eye desolation, rising up from the far blue horizon, fusing the thin line of madness, sanity, love and lawlessness, hard work and good times. It comes from outrunning lightning, surfing talus fields and transcending the long and twisted mile.

High in the deserts and mountains of the American West, Chris and Kim Lindell keep distilling finely crafted, sharp-edged songs to a smooth groove infusion of organic blues~grass~roots and gritty folk, rock and soul. The Lindells are “multi~talented songwriters” stepping out with their free~heel style. Their standout songwriting and “signature sound” burn through all kinds of musical boundaries. Supple, sultry vocals wrap around each other, sigh and rise, snarl and whirl as Chris’ electric and acoustic guitar lines dance you out over the abyss while Kim swings the backbeat with delicate, thundering bass. Chris’ harmonica sparks the lonely and forsaken. Kim’s mazzy sax runs rivet you with dangerous ascent. Vibrant and spare, there’s space to stretch out as their music rolls and rocks on, loose-limbed, through sage and sand, hot nights and honky-tonks to the mountains’ cool, clear light of day.
