INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE. A PDF tab for Cissy Strut, a New Orleans funk classic, adapted for harmonica by Adam Gussow of Satan and Adam. Gussow is playing an F harp in the key of C, to keep the lesson in the same key as the original recording, but this tab can be played in any key. Technical challenges here revolve primarily around timing and emphasis, since the funk groove requires precise off-beat stresses.

Note: because this tab (like the song) contains only two two-bar phrases, each carefully notated and repeated four times, Im offering it at a discounted rate. This does NOT mean that Cissy Strut is an easy song to master! As the video tutorial makes clear, funk harmonica requires the rhythmic subtlety of a good funk drummer.
