Grindin Productions is thrilled to introduce one of Philly’s best underground Hip Hop artists, Big Fiq. Fiq, also known as Fiq the Don, Coach, or his chosen name, Rafiq, has proven to be one to contend with in the battle of Hip Hop dominance. Fiq is known by his friends and family as the king of all storytelling. This story telling no doubt transcends on wax.
Hailing from North Philly, this 29-year old wants to make one thing clear; his rap game isn’t “business as usual”. Rapping since 7th grade, Fiq’s daily grind is to help transform the next generation of Hip Hop artists back to the realness that was first witnessed by watching YO! MTV Raps and Rap City. Tired of the grandeur that many artists have chosen to write about, Fiq draws on his upbringing in the heart of North Philly to bring some realness to his storytelling. His goal is to no doubt bring hits and to kill the air-waves, but to allow his fans to get a message beyond a catchy hook or beat.
Fiq is currently working on his album, Sick and Tired, schedule to release in March of 2008 with Grindin Production. He can also be heard on projects with other Philly phenoms such as Most Hated, Phil Blanco, County Crooks, Dirty Dame, as well as, Waterboy Statz and Peazy of the Money Gettaz, two up and coming Boston MCs.
