Blake was born in Dallas Texas on Valentines Day 1986. Two years later he moved with his family to Denver, CO, where he grew up and developed a passion for singing at an early age. He sang his first solo in a third grade choir concert, and hasn’t stopped singing since. In 2003, Blake was one of four finalists in the GMA National Vocal Competition in Estes Park, Colorado, and the top male for his age division. Most recently, he won the “Galaxy of Stars Talent Search” held at the Nebraska State Fair. Over 500 talents competed in this statewide competition. He was the 2006 overall winner and received the “Mega Star” award, cash prizes, and studio recording time.
In his early teens, he was heavily influenced by his love for 50’s music, and especially Elvis Presley. For a couple of years he did Elvis impersonations for school concerts and community events. In high school, he decided to leave the Elvis gig behind, in order to develop his own singing style. During his high school years, he was chosen for the lead part in every school musical, from 2001-2004.
Many of Blake’s solo opportunities have been through the large community church he attends. Beginning at age 17 and for the last four years, he has been chosen to sing many solos for the 7,000 member church. He enjoys singing contemporary Christian music and has been featured in many of the church’s special programs with audiences ranging from 14,000 to 17,000 people.
Blake has sung everything from Elvis Presley to Josh Groban, from rock and roll to love ballads. He recently began writing some of his own songs, and a few of those will be included on his upcoming album. Blake’s ultimate dream and goal is to become a major recording artist. Locally, Blake receives numerous requests to sing each year, for community events, weddings, and church programs.
Blake is especially grateful to some key people in his life, that have supported and helped him with his musical endeavors. He feels blessed to have Dr. Scott Martin as his vocal coach and Wynne Adams as his agent/manager. Dr. Scott has been a great coach and has helped Blake put the winning touches on many of his songs. Blake recently met Wynne Adams through the Galaxy of Stars competition, and has already benefited from her broad experience in the music industry. He is also grateful to his family and Cherry Hills Community Church for their continued support and opportunities to use his God given talent.
