Who''s the Asian chick bringing a new face to Pop? It''s non other than Cat Chang! A Korean-American born in Queens, NY, it was her dream to be a singer for as long as she could remember. A writer, singer and classically-trained musician, Cat Chang is the new girl on the block. She has the appeal, drive and talent to make it to the top. Her quest to influence the world through music started at an early age. Cat Chang began taking music lessons at the age of 6; first classical piano and then violin. Voice training followed soon after. Her music, often described as "Urban Flavor", is influenced by her classical training and love for pop, funk, and R&B. Studying other musical legends like Janet Jackson, BabyFace and Stevie Wonder also played a role in shaping her into the talented performer she is today. In August 2005, Cat graduated with a Music Management/Broadcasting degree from Georgia State University. A few months following, she received a formal invitation to perform a classical piano rendition for Senator Hillary''s Dinner Party. Good things continued to happen. Later on that year, Cat formed her own band and called it, "The Cat Chang Show ." The success of "The Cat Chang Show" has been outstanding. Her band has performed at venues throughout Atlanta like Apache Cafe, Smiths Olde Bar, Django, Eddie''s Attic, Cafe 290, and Park Tavern. Her talent has captured the attention of major producers such as Terry Lewis, Big Jim Wright, Kevin Briggs Shakespeare, Buckwild and more. Cat also teaches private piano, voice and violin lessons for kids to follow her footsteps.
Cat is currently in the studio recording her new songs in Atlanta. She continues to travel the world, write songs and performs at venues throughout the U.S. Cat''s songwriting and lyrics deliver a spirited message that relates to a wide audience.
