MP3 Flowers for Human - Lavender

Singer/songwriter Harold King sings heartfelt pop songs while teaching himself the art of recording. Lo-fi and brooding, this first attempt at an album is extremely inspiring, but odd to say the least.

9 MP3 Songs
POP: Psychedelic Pop, JAZZ: Jazz-Pop

Details:
''Flowers for Human'' is the solo project of variety-musician Harold king--a young songwriter and composer from Austin, TX. Skipping over the conventions of pop music self-education, King learned to play music strictly by writing it rather than by playing other people''s tunes. A natural talent, King ended up completely stifled in his College Music Composition program, where, after a mere 8 months of lessons, he was received with open arms only to narrowly escape dropout due to self-medication and a lifelong bout with depression. King currently leads Austin band ''The Fever Dreams'' into a whirlwind of paint, adjectives, and skeletons, and pursues further musical invention late at night in his make-shift home recording studio.

"Lavender," the first of a series of albums titled by the names of herbs, is the rough documentation of a natural talent’s experiences while rakishly attending a pop songwriting class. Self-taught composer Harold King consciously ignores the curriculum, yet remains the only consistent performer in the class. Songs about life, love, and other cliché’d angles mockingly become catchy pop anthems and sold to a crowd of naïve academicians in this first-crack hip-shot of self-production. Runtime 24:14.
