Details:
Crooked Mouth is the self-financed recording project of Edinburgh-based guitarist/songwriter Ken Campbell.

With family commitments limiting his scope on the live circuit - and tired of seeing quality rock music playing second fiddle to chart-driven designer pop - Ken decided to focus on the studio and publish his latest offering on his own label, Moon Brothers Music.

It''s been nearly three years in the making - a labour of love if ever there was one - and we''re confident that devotees of well-crafted, intelligent rock will agree it''s been worth the wait.

The Music
''Progressive-influenced hard rock'' is how one scribe summed it up, and who are we to argue?

Certainly, you won''t find many pop-hooks in here. What you will find are ''big-picture'' songs, thought provoking lyrics and the challenging contrasts of driving rock instrumentals with lighter acoustic passages. Wrap it all up with some beautiful vocal performances and the result is a fine blend of atmospheric and memorable songs.
''On all the songs the musicians get to shine...a treat for the ears'' Marc Roy, ProGGnosis.

The Band
Guitarist-songwriter Ken Campbell is a veteran of three previous self-published albums and numerous bands. His early influences were rooted in the hard, progressive and folk rock genres mostly courtesy of Led Zeppelin, Gabriel-era Genesis, Rush, Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull. More recently he''s added artists such as REM and Counting Crows to the list.

For this project Ken gathered together a talented crowd of die-hards with a variety of musical backgrounds: progressive/metal drummer Tony Hodge, blues-rock bassist Chris Stenhouse and pianist Simon Ellis formed the instrumental core of the band. Providing the vocal finesse are Kenny Haig, Lynne Campbell and Eilidh Swanson, with Alison Mitchell on flute.
