Christian artist Lorraine Darwin shares with you her meditations of the Lord Jesus Christ through her sophomore album, "A God So Faithful." Join her in this uplifting musical journey that will leave you feeling encouraged and refreshed. Songs have clear sounding vocals, with a variety of keyboard and guitar accompaniment.
Lorraine has played piano since childhood, and found her love for writing poetry and singing as a teenager. Only recently, in her late 20''s, did she find that God had blessed her with song-writing ability. "What a joy to be able to express my love for the Lord, my aspirations, and my meditations through song. I write down the words and the melody just seems to come. My prayer is that these songs will magnify my Lord and encourage the listener."
"A God So Faithful" also draws on the thoughts and talents of friends. The lyrics for "Living Water" were written by friend Anna Drewry. "Anna shared this very special poem with me, and was gracious in letting me put music to it. It took a couple of tries to write the correct style of music that captured her own feelings. I would describe the end product as upbeat and joyful," shares Lorraine. "The Lighthouse" was inspired by friend Jan Rowland. "She was so poetic in her ideas about the Lord as a Lighthouse, that I asked her if she would write them as a song. She said that her strength was in prose, not poetry, and that I could go ahead with writing it myself. Thankfully, upon completion of the song, she expressed that I had indeed captured her thoughts." Talented guitar player Tom Malcolm adds quality and depth to three songs on the CD. Tom, along with friends Mona Schonberg, Mike Windheuser, Michelle Heller, and Sarah Block share their talent on the backing vocals of two songs.
The title cut of the CD "A God So Faithful" will stir you heart to praise the Lord. "Do You Have A Story?" will challenge you to examine your own standing before the Lord. Anyone who has been through the deep waters of trials, will identify with God''s mysterious workings as explored in "Let Him Take You Down." "Let Me Tell You Of My Lord" is simply the overflow of the heart of one who loves her Savior. Lorraine shares, "Every song has its own special inspiration. ''Wait Upon The Lord'' grew from learning that God''s timing may not be what I expect. ''The Lord''s Ways'' actually came from my reaction to a scene in the musical ''Les Miserables,'' which in turn spurred my thinking to spiritual contrasts as seen in Scripture. ''A Song of the Shepherds'' developed around a line from a 17th century Christmas poem. And step into heaven with me for awhile as you listen to ''That Coming Day.'' "
