Originally from London, England, David Fox has lived in New York since the early eighties. Fox''s career has stretched across the boundaries of music, performance, painting, poetry and video. As a visual artist, Fox has had many exhibitions in New York as well as around the States and Europe. He first made his mark in the vital East Village scene, a hot bed of innovative artists and musicians from 1980-87. He continues to exhibit his work today.
As a poet, Fox''s move to songwriting was a natural progression. Inspired by the classic British sound of his youth, Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Who and later, Jam, Squeeze, Police and Elvis Costello, Fox has produced his first CD release '' Walk Through Everyday''.
The album is an eclectic mix of roots rock, modern rock and art rock with lyrics that run from introspective to epic.
Fox has also collaborated with video artist Abre Chen to produce many short films which have been screened across the U.S., including a video of "Stop Using" at the L.A. Digital Film Festival. He has performed in Greenwich Village haunts on legendary Bleecker Street, as well as uptown, at the Triad Theater.
Some of Fox''s new projects include a second CD, a multi-media play and an illustrated book of poems and lyrics.
