Sister Ruby is her name and she is a rare gem indeed. Her singing career began in 2004 and she has been singing up a storm since then. She loves to sing the songs of Zion, the timeless favorites of old that have lasted throughout the years.
She learned many of these songs as a child while attending Sunday services with her grandmother "Mum", whom she grew up with in Jamaica, West Indies.
She was born Beverly Ruby Dawes and is one of five brothers and four sisters, with whom she remains close. Her father, Rupert Dawes is deceased, but her mother Gloria Campbell is alive and takes great pride in her daughter''s accomplishments.
Along with her long lasting relationship with God (she was baptized into First United Methodist Church), is her long standing commitment to her husband of 29 years, Raymond Wallace.
They have three adult children and two grandchildren whom they dote over. She feels especially blessed that she is the lead singer of her son Everton Wallace''s band, The Ultimate Symphony.
Sister Ruby writes a number of her songs and records under the Light of Revival label. She has successfully launched two CDs.
The first which was released in 2005 is simply called Zion and is a blend of old time gospel music. The second CD was released in the summer of 2006 and is called Alter.
She leads a very busy life and performs at different venues in the New York area.
Her music can be heard in the U.S. on 93.5 FM and on 930 AM in New York. She can also be heard over the airwaves in her island home of Jamaica.
As she continues moving up the King''s Highway, Sister Ruby wants her success to be measured by the number of souls that her music wins for the Master''s kingdom.
She was acquainted with New Church of God in Jamaica and currently worships at different churches in the New York area.
