Llaryn is a Mriln healer. Shes brought to Sai-sen-Sai, home of the VanDai, to try to heal Genae Galaran, the Presidents daughter. When she meets Paladin, the leader of the VanDai, shes drawn to him in a way that makes her uncomfortable as he gives her the feeling of being stalked. In the process of healing Genae, she almost loses her own life. Luckily Paladin saves her. She finds out quickly he wants more from her than her healing abilities. He intends to keep her.
Paladin knows immediately upon seeing the Mriln healer that shes his mate. When he sees her nearly die healing someone, hes determined to save her and prove to her that shes his and belongs by his side forever.

Angelina Evans creates an interesting world of strong warriors and exceptional healers. Paladin and Llaryn are great. I thoroughly enjoyed traveling with them from their initial meeting through their struggle to know one another and even through Paladins fight to hold on to and protect what is his. I found this to be a good story that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hot intriguing read.
