Details:
Doogs is the nickname of New Jersey musician Scott Kastner and refers to New York Rangers icon Ron Duguay. Doogs became a familiar name in 1994 with the successful holiday tune "Santa''s In Jamaica" by Doogs with Shawney. It was one of the most requested Christmas songs on radio stations across the United States - including WNEW-FM in New York City.
The following year, Doogs the band was formed when Scott joined forces with bassist T. Tola. "Everyone''s talking..." was released in 1996 and is a diverse collection of songs reflecting Doogs'' musical influences from the mid 70''s into the grunge movement of the 90''s. Amazingly, the album was recorded in the kitchen of Scott''s then rented concrete lake house in northern New Jersey (Stone Temple Cottage). Doogs'' engineering and production talents, combined with the masterful ears of Gene Paul (son of the legendary Les Paul) make this album warm and genuine.
After the release of "Everyone''s talking...", the band Doogs went through a few iterations with additional musicians - then sadly disolved in 1999.
Today, Scott is a member of the critically acclaimed band The Nugget Brothers (https://www.tradebit.com). "Santa''s In Jamaica" can be heard every December on radio stations all over the world. Enjoy.
