When these five variously influenced musicians convene to build their wall, the winds of Montreal take on a haunting howl. Rising from the rubble of other musical endeavors in early 2006 to form an earth-shattering collective of sound, Forty Birds project their blend of street corner metal to the masses in their anxiously awaited debut album ''Shotgun Therapy''.
There is no lack of buzz surrounding this first offering from Forty Birds; the most recent epic journey being pushed forth from Studio Sanchez (Ileana,Sign of One, Tantrumn), known as a breeding ground for some of the best works of sonic heaviness in Montreal. After a year of toil, Forty Birds take flight. Soaring melodies seep through the cracks of massive, slithering guitar rhythms; pulsating percussion taming progressive time signatures, teasing your frontal lobe.
Forty Birds'' trademarked organic sound has been a fixture on the local Montreal scene since their formation; they have been the featured local spotlight on local radio stations such as 94.7 HITS FM and played regularly on university radio stations across Canada such as Mcgill University''s CKUT (Montreal) and Lakehead University''s CILU (Thunderbay), to name a few. Relentless gigging found them a spot pounding a populous alongside Threat Signal (Nuclear Blast), and their long-awaited debut album will no doubt stamp Forty Birds'' footprint deep into the Canadian metal scene.
