Frank Bateman, Jr. "Fjay" was born to Frank Sr. and Gloria Bateman on April 30, 1983. He is the third child of four children. Born and raised in Andrews, SC, he began singing at a very young age with his family known as “The Bateman Family”. For years he polished his ministry of music by singing with his family. As time progressed, he began writing songs for the family and recorded with them on their freshman project entitled “A Word from Jesus" in 2000. As he faithfully continued to minister through song with his family, God blessed them to record their second project entitled "Give God the Glory" which was produced by Fjay. He has been fortunate to meet and lend his vocal abilities to some of gospel music’s most talented artists, including but not limited to LaShun Pace, Durancie Pace, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Kim Burrell, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kurvy Brown, Smokie Norful and J. Moss. Fjay also appeared and shared his talent on Bobby Jones Gospel’s New Artist retreat in May of 2006 with his family. Fjay is a man of many abilities. He is a singer, song writer and producer, as well as a musician and pastor. Fjay’s expectations for his project and ministry of music are very high and he has a burden for reaching the lost and spreading the message of Christ all over the world. The title of his project, “My Life”, is unique because every song that it contains was birthed from his own life’s experiences and challenges. He wants listeners to feel his compassion for ministry, and music through his songs. Above all, Fjay seeks to offer a message of salvation and motivation to all that hear this project. Frank often says, "Gospel music and the ministry at large is my life.” He lives the life everyday that he sings and preaches about. Frank acknowledges that his life has been ordained by God to complete a work in such a time as this. He has been predestined to fulfill the purpose of God for his life. Overall, Fjay’s desire is for God to be pleased with and get the glory out of his life!
