Details:
FAIRE PLAY is a harp CD that sounds great turned up REALLY LOUD in the car -- no nodding-off soothing music here! These fantastic old tunes really rock with the naturally gnarly sound of the historical bray harp. In creating these arrangements, artist Harper Tasche has answered the question "What did Medieval and Renaissance musicians do when they got to the pub after the gig at court, and everybody started dancing in their heavy boots?" This CD takes a walk on the wild side from the 11th to 16th centuries, with tunes from Italy, France, Norway, England, Germany, France, and Switzerland.
HARPER TASCHE is best known for his extraordinary performances featuring cross-strung harp, folk harps, and the historical bray harp. His far-reaching repertoire includes music from contemporary, classical, historical, and numerous ethnic traditions. Harper is a regular headliner at major folk harp festivals and conferences throughout the United States and Canada. His credits include more than twenty recordings, performance awards in a variety of styles, and harp music books in two languages. Based in Seattle, Harper can be reached via https://www.tradebit.com.
