Details:
Born from the ashes of promising Chicago area bands The Stash?, Domestic Godzilla, and Torn Between comes all the insanity of STUCK UNDERWATER. A band hell bent on making music without any rules at all.
STUCK UNDERWATER began when singer/trumpet player/percussionist Chris Shern and bassist/backing vocalist Chris Teter left The Stash? and met former Domestic Godzilla guitarist/backing vocalist/percussionist John A Beavers in early 2005. The three spent hours discussing their love for all types of music before even picking up any instruments. While they all loved heavy music they realized that they wouldn’t be happy playing in just another metal or punk band. Stuck Underwater was then complete when former Torn Between drummer/percussionist Chuck Tokarski entered the picture. With four members well schooled about the ins and outs of the Chicago scene and the road it was time to jam out as much punk, funk, metal, soul, blues, thrash, jazz, and hardcore they could.
After toiling on stages in the Chicagoland area (Double Door, Logan Square Auditorium, Mutiny, Abbey Pub, Champ’s, etc.) as well as road shows throughout the Midwest (opening for The End recording artist Tub Ring), STUCK UNDERWATER has seen their fan-base growing with each high energy live show. No stage, no line-up, and no crowds have been too far out of reach for the band to connect with. Now with the release of the band’s first full-length album, No Script To Follow, the band is set to unleash their diverse sound on new ears. No Script To Follow, produced by Christopher Wolff (Chapter Seven, Trials, Drawing A Blank), pummels listeners with the thrash of “Mr. Skeptical” and “Clocks,” the eclectic sounds of “Red And Left Behind” and “Dz Bag O’ Bonz,” and the fun groves of “Licky Lollygagging University” and “My Great Obsessions.” No Script To Follow combines intelligent lyrics with heavy blasts of aggression, smooth groves, and instrumentation not normally associated with heavy music.
