Details:
The Ladykillers were established in March of 2001. Chris Knobloch (Handsome Sam, Undefined, Thicker Than Water) and Jake Cathcart (Filthy Thirds, Levee) began it in a dark dorm room at Missouri State University. Drummer Mike Rumsey (One Damn Canadian, Filthy Thirds, Mojo Motors, The Adrenals, The Remones, Unteen) burst into their quiet dorm room to complete the trio that was the original Ladykillers. In spring of 2002, the Ladykillers released their pop punk triumph, Kiss and Tell, on Wee Rock Records, a small indie label in Springfield. In the fall of 2002, Trent Wilson (now of the Filthy Thirds) became lead guitar player and the muscle. After a year of huge momentum and a second record, Making the Least of the Moment, Trent left the band and formed the Filthy Thirds, leaving the Ladykillers as a three piece and virtually powerless for the time being. Another guitar player came and went with local boy, Chance Turner. Now we have a new bass player, local dj John Broyer. After almost five years, the Ladykillers are still making some great music and have released their long-awaited third album, Return to Nowhere.
