Details:
Beth DeSombre (pronunciation: de-SOM-bree) grew up on folk music, using her childhood allowance money to buy Peter, Paul and Mary albums. Her more recent songwriting influences include Dave Carter and Richard Shindell. She writes beautifully melodic songs that can be experienced on many levels, telling stories of people along life’s crooked highways.
Beth moved to the Boston area for its singer-songwriter music scene, and has been playing at coffeehouses, pubs, and other folk venues for the past couple years. She has recently made guest appearances at several major folk festivals (Boston, New Bedford Summerfest, Strawberry Park), and gained honorable mentions in national and international songwriting competitions. Folk icons Pete and Maura Kennedy called Beth’s song No Toll in Canaan “one of the finest songs we have ever heard.”
